Ready to start a project?
Canal Plastics Center provides professional acrylic bonding and assembly for projects that require clean joints, precise alignment, and a refined finished appearance. Our bonding services focus on both visual quality and structural reliability, producing assemblies that look intentional and hold up in real-world use.
All bonding and assembly work is completed in-house at our NYC shop, allowing us to maintain control over fit, clarity, and consistency. Bonding integrates seamlessly with our custom cutting, laser cutting, CNC routing, heat bending, and edge finishing services, making it easy to produce complete acrylic assemblies from start to finish. Designers and fabricators trust our team for dependable results, supported by more than 60 years of acrylic fabrication experience.
We provide professional acrylic bonding and assembly for a range of finished parts and applications, including:
Our team can recommend the appropriate bonding approach based on design requirements, load considerations, and visual finish.

Acrylic assemblies are essential for retail merchandising, visual displays, gallery installations, product photography, and custom built structures that require clear, modern presentation. Retail stores rely on assembled acrylic for shelves, risers, and pre-built fixtures. Museums use bonded acrylic for protective covers and exhibition components. Designers and studios depend on assembled acrylic for prototypes, branded display elements, and structural forms. Student and studio projects benefit from clean edges, accurate alignment, and a professional finish.
Whether it’s a single box or a full production run, our assembly work gives your project a refined, polished look.
To begin, send your project details including dimensions, material thicknesses, panel count, construction type, or any available drawings. You can submit everything through our custom order form or email us directly. Our team reviews your specifications, confirms feasibility, recommends materials if needed, and provides a quote with estimated turnaround.
During fabrication, each panel is cut, routed, polished, or prepared before bonding. We use professional acrylic cements that create clean, strong solvent-welded joints. After assembly, pieces are checked for clarity, strength, and alignment. If your project requires additional finishing such as polishing, bending, drilling, or mounting hooks we integrate those steps into the workflow.
When complete, you may pick up your finished assembly from our SoHo shop or arrange shipping.
Provide your design at true scale with clear dimensions for each panel or component. Vector files such as AI, PDF, EPS, DXF, or SVG are preferred for cut-and-assemble projects. If you are unsure how to format your drawings or need help translating a sketch into cut files, send what you have and we can help guide the process.
We will advise on material thickness, joint style, bend locations, and any other considerations that affect assembly quality.
Acrylic bonding and assembly are often the final step in larger fabrication projects, following custom cutting, laser cutting, CNC routing, heat bending, and edge finishing. Assembly services can be quoted as part of a complete fabrication project or requested separately.
How strong are acrylic bonded joints?
Properly bonded acrylic forms a solvent-welded joint that is strong, clear, and suitable for most display and fabrication needs.
Can you make museum-grade display cases?
Yes. Many galleries and institutions rely on our shop for clean, polished, exhibition-ready acrylic cases.
Do you ship assembled acrylic pieces?
We offer both local pickup and local messenger shipping. Large or fragile cases may require special packing or pickup.
Can you bond specialty acrylics?
Most cast acrylics bond cleanly. Certain mirrored or specialty materials may have limitations, and we can advise based on the specific material.
