Polycarbonate Sheets & Films

Unbreakable Clarity. Industrial Strength.

Our Polycarbonate Sheet & Film Collection offers high-performance plastics built for impact, literally. Known for their virtually unbreakable strength, polycarbonate sheets and films are the go-to choice for applications that demand durability, clarity, and thermal resistance.

From protective barriers and machine guards to architectural glazing and DIY projects, these materials outperform glass and acrylic where strength matters most. Lightweight, heat resistant, and easy to cut or thermoform, polycarbonate is a favorite in both industrial and creative settings.

Available in:
Thin film sheets & rigid sheets
Pre-cut sizes, full sheets or custom cut-to-size

Perfect for signage, security glazing, face shields, greenhouse panels, and more.

FAQs

Is polycarbonate the same as Lexan?

Yes. Lexan and Makrolon are manufacturer trade names for polycarbonate, the way Kleenex is a trade name for tissue. All of our polycarbonate sheet is equivalent material: if a spec calls for Lexan, this is it.

What's the difference between polycarbonate and acrylic?

Polycarbonate has up to 250 times the impact resistance of glass and resists cracking, snapping, and shattering, making it the choice for machine guards, safety glazing, and high-abuse applications. Acrylic is more optically clear, more scratch-resistant, easier to polish, and can be laser cut. If strength is the priority, choose polycarbonate; if appearance is, choose acrylic.

Can you cut polycarbonate to size?

Yes. Polycarbonate can be ordered as a 24" x 48" pre-cut or custom cut to your exact dimensions. We also CNC route, drill, sand, and machine radius corners in-house, and we can trace a physical template if you don't have a digital file.

Can polycarbonate be laser cut?

No. Polycarbonate cannot be laser cut; the laser discolors and damages the material. It machines beautifully with everything else: we CNC route, saw, drill, and finish polycarbonate with standard carbide tooling, working from your DXF or PDF file or a traced template.

What thicknesses and sizes of polycarbonate do you stock?

Solid clear polycarbonate from 1/16" to 1/2" thick, plus 6mm clear twinwall panels. Pre-cut sheets are 24" x 48" and ship nationwide via UPS Ground. Full sheets are 48" x 96", available for pickup at our 345 Canal Street store or by arranged freight, and oversized sheets up to 48" x 120", 60" x 96", and 72" x 96" are available by special order.

Can polycarbonate be used outdoors?

Yes. Polycarbonate handles outdoor temperature extremes and impact from hail and debris, which is why it's a standard choice for canopies, safety glazing, and outdoor enclosures. Our 6mm twinwall panels are designed for exactly that work, including greenhouse and skylight glazing.
