Polycarbonate is what you reach for when acrylic isn't enough. With impact resistance up to 250× that of glass and continuous service capability up to 212°F, it handles the applications where strength, clarity, and long-term durability all have to coexist. CPC stocks clear polycarbonate equivalent to Lexan and Makrolon in solid sheet from 1/16" to 1/2" thick, and 6mm clear twinwall panels for glazing, greenhouse, and outdoor enclosure work.
General contractors specify it for partitions, safety glazing, machine guards, and barriers. Architects use it for architectural glazing, canopies, and skylights. Robotics programs, university STEM labs, and desktop CNC builders use it for structural components and model work — a machinable, impact-resistant alternative to acrylic wherever brittleness is a liability. The material cannot be laser cut, but routes, drills, and machines cleanly with standard carbide tooling.
