Clear polycarbonate sheets, also known by the trade names Lexan and Makrolon, in solid gauges from 1/16" to 1/2" plus 6mm clear twinwall panels. With up to 250 times the impact resistance of glass, polycarbonate is the material for machine guards, safety glazing, partitions, and anywhere acrylic's brittleness is a liability. Trusted by NYC contractors, architects, robotics teams, and fabricators since 1963.
Every sheet can be ordered as a 24" x 48" pre-cut or custom cut to your exact dimensions with a tolerance of +/- 1/32". We CNC route, drill, sand, and trace physical templates in-house; bring a DXF, a PDF, or the part itself.

Polycarbonate is what you reach for when acrylic isn't enough. With impact resistance up to 250x that of glass and continuous service capability up to 212°F, it handles the applications where strength, clarity, and long-term durability all have to coexist. CPC stocks clear solid polycarbonate sheet and 6mm clear twinwall panels for glazing, greenhouse, and outdoor enclosure work.
General contractors specify it for partitions, safety glazing, machine guards, and barriers. Architects use it for architectural glazing, canopies, and skylights. Robotics programs, university STEM labs, and desktop CNC builders use it for structural components and model work: a machinable, impact-resistant alternative to acrylic wherever brittleness is a liability.
CPC cuts polycarbonate to size in-shop at Canal Street. Submit a DXF or PDF file for CNC cutting, or bring a physical template and we'll trace and cut it directly. That's useful for gates, partitions, guards, and custom shapes without a digital file. We drill holes, cut shapes, and machine radius corners. If you need it cut, we can cut it.
Yes. Lexan and Makrolon are manufacturer trade names for polycarbonate, the way Kleenex is a trade name for tissue. All of our polycarbonate sheet is equivalent material: if a spec calls for Lexan, this is it.
Polycarbonate has up to 250 times the impact resistance of glass and resists cracking, snapping, and shattering, making it the choice for machine guards, safety glazing, and high-abuse applications. Acrylic is more optically clear, more scratch-resistant, easier to polish, and can be laser cut. If strength is the priority, choose polycarbonate; if appearance is, choose acrylic.
Yes. Polycarbonate can be ordered as a 24" x 48" pre-cut or custom cut to your exact dimensions. We also CNC route, drill, sand, and machine radius corners in-house, and we can trace a physical template if you don't have a digital file.
No. Polycarbonate cannot be laser cut; the laser discolors and damages the material. It machines beautifully with everything else: we CNC route, saw, drill, and finish polycarbonate with standard carbide tooling, working from your DXF or PDF file or a traced template.
Solid clear polycarbonate from 1/16" to 1/2" thick, plus 6mm clear twinwall panels. Pre-cut sheets are 24" x 48" and ship nationwide via UPS Ground. Full sheets are 48" x 96", available for pickup at our 345 Canal Street store or by arranged freight, and oversized sheets up to 48" x 120", 60" x 96", and 72" x 96" are available by special order.
Yes. Polycarbonate handles outdoor temperature extremes and impact from hail and debris, which is why it's a standard choice for canopies, safety glazing, and outdoor enclosures. Our 6mm twinwall panels are designed for exactly that work, including greenhouse and skylight glazing.
