HIPS (high impact polystyrene), usually just called styrene, is a lightweight, opaque plastic sheet with a smooth matte finish. It cuts with scissors or a hobby knife, glues cleanly, heat forms with a heat gun and vacuum forms well, which makes it a favorite for architectural models, prototypes, stencils and templates, POP displays, packaging trays and cosplay props. The surface takes screen printing, digital printing and vinyl graphics.
