Met Gold Shimmer Acrylic Sheet

Molten, saturated, and unapologetically rich, our Met Gold Shimmer Acrylic Sheet takes its cue from the gilt of the Metropolitan Museum, the gold frames and gold leaf and the light that comes off all of it. Made from transparent cast acrylic swirled with deeper ochre veining and seeded with a fine iridescent micro-flake, it reads like gold caught mid-pour rather than a flat yellow.

The contrast is the point. The veining is warm, the sparkle buried underneath is cool, flashing blue-green where the light catches, and the two read differently as you move around the sheet. The swirl is poured rather than printed, so every panel runs its own pattern and no two are alike. Backlit, the warm bands hold their color while the flake picks up as a fine scatter across the surface.

Met Gold suits signage, retail and window displays, event work, decorative panels, and lighting applications where a warm glow is wanted without going opaque. Both sides carry the full effect, glossy, with the veining and the micro-flake running through the material rather than sitting on the surface. Fabricates cleanly with laser cutting, CNC routing, engraving, UV printing, and heat bending. Note: the reflective particles may require slightly higher laser power than standard cast acrylic. Polished edges pick up the flake and read bright.
